Starting in 2010, the Chandler Museum, the City of Chandler, and the Pardner’s of Tumbleweed Ranch sponsored the Chandler Chuck Wagon Cook-off. This free family friendly culinary event offered a rare opportunity to experience authentic 1880s chuck wagons from around the Southwest compete to cook up the best meals fit for the trail. across the Southwest prepare open fire and Dutch oven cooking as it would was done on a cattle drives during the heyday of the cowboys. Wagon teams prepared a 5-course meal that was sold to the public and competed for cash prizes and bragging rights to be the Chandler Chuck Wagon Cook-off Champion.
