-Mr. Brion, living three miles south of Chandler, slipped from a haystack, and landed on the tines of a hay fork.  Seven inches went through his body, and somehow missing all vital organs by less than an inch.  He pulled out the tines, and went to his home where a doctor was called.

Dr. K.M. Gilbert treated the wounds, and said if they had gone straight in Mr. Brion would have died.  Mr. Brion is doing fine now.  (Chandler Arizonan 8/1/1913)
