The 1931 and 1932 directories said he was a carpenter, living at 219 N. Dakota, along with Charles R. Chitwood and his wife Mary Chitwood, and Mabel Chitwood.

The 1940 Chandler Resident Directory said Philip G. Chitwood was married to Patricia and that he was a farmer. They lived on the north side of west Chandler Road and had the phone number 89J1.
