Carl Dossey was a World Champion bareback bronco rider. He was the co-founder of the first electric eye timed event chute and a professional rodeo judge for 12 years. Carl met an untimely death at the 1955 Chandler Rodeo when a team of horses became agitated and stampeded toward a crowd of onlookers. Carl was able to stop the runaway team, and saved many lives, but lost his own life in the event.  Carl was posthumously inducted into the Chandler Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.
