He is listed in the 1917, 1918 and 1919 Chandler (Arizona) City Directories as a farmer. 

The 1923 and 1925 directories gave his address as RD1, Box 112.

The 1930, 1931 and 1932 directories said he lived on Route 1.

The 1932 Phoenix Telephone Directory, Chandler section, said W. H. Drain lived on a ranch north of Chandler and had the phone number 78-J5.
