-Mrs. DeWitt and her husband, Alex, were on vacation at the Granite Reef Dam when their son, Kenneth, got sick with typhoid fever.  They had left their children at home while on the trip.  They received word in Mesa, and they rushed home.  (Chandler Arizonan 8/15/1913)
