Edwards, Edward William

Edward William (E. W.) Edwards, of Cincinnati, was the owner of the San Marcos Hotel in the 1930s and 1940s.  He was married to Eleanore Zimmerman Edwards, and they had two children, Helen and Eleanore.  Edwards died in 1956, several years after selling the San Marcos Hotel to John Quarty.  While he was in charge of the hotel, the San Marcos flourished as a destination resort for the wealthy.  It was on Edwards' invitiation that renowned portrait artist Fritz Werner first came to the San Marcos.
