Hatfield, Frank

Frank was an outstanding long distance runner who overcame physical handicaps including Polio and of having been born with only one hand. During middle school years, Frank participated on the school’s football, basketball, baseball and track teams. He set the school record in the mile with a time of 4:27.2. This was the school record for 12 years. He attended ASU and was on their cross-country team till a career ending injury took place. After graduation Frank was the coach and athletic director at White River-Alchesay High School until 1997. Frank passed away in 2004.
