The 1940 Chandler Resident Directory said Bert L. Lewis was a farmer and that he and his wife Mamie lived on the west side of north Washington beyond Detroit street. Their phone number was 162.

There also was a Bert L. Lewis Jr. listed. Bert Jr. and Milton Lewis apparently lived with Bert and Mamie.
