-Mr. Newman, originally from Orange County, California, has bought M.J. Trainer's barbershop.  He plans to make improvements to it. 

He has many years of experience, and owned a shop in California for a number of years.  (Chandler Arizonan 6/20/1913)

-Mr. Newman has rented out the home of Dr. F.C. Jordan near the Chandler school, and will move his family there.  (Chandler Arizonan 7/11/1913)

-Mr. Newman has sold his interest in the barbershop to Jack Mannen due to several issues.  (Chandler Arizonan 7/18/1913)

-Mr. Newman has been given a fright at his new job in Mesa.  He approached a customer at the barbershop who told him he had smallpox.  Mr. Newman fell backwards and landed next to the owner.  The customer only smiled, and told them he had been out of quarantine for 10 days, and needed a shave.  (Chandler Arizonan 7/25/1913)
