Aguirre, Audelio

“Audelio was born in the small town of Balmorhea, Texas to Moises P. and Aleja Aguirre; the fourth of nine children. He was an inquisitive young man with a yearning to get an education and see the world. His desire to see the world and serve his country led him into the military. His career began by enlisting in the United States Army in March of 1954. He served two years in the Army before reenlisting with the United States Air Force in August of 1957 as a fire fighter. By the time he retired from the military in 1976, Audelio had received several commendations and promotions, retiring as a Technical Sergeant. Once he retired from the military, Audelio began his civilian life. Soon after he was drawn to the civil service as a fire fighter. He earned a Fire Science Degree during his time of service. He served in the fire departments at Williams Air Force Base, Arizona and the Naval Air Station Lamoore, California until retiring as Fire Chief. He took great pride and care in sharing stories and chronicling the family ancestry for generations to come. He is greatly missed.” -brief biography of military service submitted by family of Tech.
