-Mr. Rinear, son of E.D. Rinear, and his wife and three sons, Roy, Carl, and Earl, made the road trip from Spokane, Washington of 2,272 miles. The family is here to visit their father and other relatives, and are considering buying land here.

He says it cost about 1.5 cents per mile to get to Chandler, and had a few mishaps until arriving in Arizona where they had 15 punctures in their tires in one day. They also had a spring broken near Blythe.

They had stopped in Williams and Medford, Oregon to visit relatives of Mrs. Rinear. Then spent seven weeks in Los Angeles due to people telling them it was too hot here in Chandler. They left on May 15th, and arrived last Wednesday. (Chandler Arizonan 8/15/1913)
