He is listed in the 1920 and 1921 Chandler (Arizona) City Directories as living with his wife Charlotte on California St. Living with them were Charles A. Tyler and Norma Tyler. (1920, 1921)

The 1923 and 1925 directories said he was a carpenter and that he and Charlotte lived at 346 N. Washington.

The 1926 directory gave their address as 314 N. Washington and said Glen Tyler lived with them.

The 1929 directory said Robert M. and Charlotte Tyler lived at 261 N. Washington.

R. M. Tyler appears in the 1931 directory with the address P. O. Box 102.
