Ladies' Aid Society
-The Ladies' Aid Society of the Methodist Church of Chandler was organized by Bessie Gilbert, last Thursday, when ten ladies became charter members.
The following officers were elected: President, Minnie Marsh; Vice President, Bessie Gilbert; Treasurer: Mrs. W.H. Stowe; Secretary, Estella Edwards.
The purpose of the organization is to care for the sick and needy, to raise funs for the church, and to be of general usefullness on all occaisions.
Any lady that is interested is cordially invited, and will pay a fee of one dollar which is the dues for one year. The plan is to meet two or three times monthly at the home of one of the members. Refreshments will be eliminated for now due to small spaces at some homes.
Other attendees were Mesdames Seward, Brooks, McKay, Gregg, Larmour, Gilbert, Jordan, Edwards, Marsh, and Tripp.

-Last Thursday, Mrs. Jordan hosted the society, and they decided to host a bake sale. They were able to recruit new members including Olive Quartier, Ida Grainger, Mrs. Grant, and Vera Meyer.
Tomorrow they will host a bake sale at the Rinear Store. They've been preparing for a week, and it will include cakes and Dutch cheese. All the money will go for the Chandler Church.

-The bake sale, last Saturday, was a success. They sold out in a hurry and made ten dollars. Mrs. Stowe, Jordan, and Grainger were in charge of the bake sale. (Chandler Arizonan 5/2/1913)
-The Ladies' Aid Society will serve food at the auction held in Chandler, next Wednesday. There will be a charge for the food. (Chandler Arizonan 5/9/1913)
-The ladies met on May 1st at Mrs. Grainger's house. After a business meeting there was a social time. Refreshments of ice cream and fruit punch were served.

-The society served lunch at noon at the cattle auction on Wednesday. They served sandwiches, coffee, and pies for five cents each. They made a neat sum. (Chandler Arizonan 5/16/1913)
-A meeting was held May 29th at the home of Mrs. Edwards. They did some sewing, and a good social time for the 15 present. Refreshments and cakes were served afterwards. (Chandler Arizonan 6/6/1913)
-The society threw a surprise party for Mrs. Quartier, Wednesday afternoon. There was about a dozen people who attended. (Chandler Arizonan 6/13/1913)

-The next meeting will be held June 26th at the home of Mrs. Marsh. There is now 21 members. (Chandler Arizonan 6/20/1913)
-The society met on Sunday, June 26th at the home of Mrs. Marsh where there was three new members. After business was completed, an interesting program was held and light refreshments were served. The next meeting will be held at the home Mrs. Mallory on Thursday, July 10.

-Mrs. Lucretia Smith hosted the society on Thursday. They had a watermelon feast. All the watermelons came from her ranch. (Chandler Arizonan 7/25/1913)
-Mrs. Smith entertained about 25 members of the Ladies' Aid Society and their friends, last week, with a watermelon party.
Among those who attended were Mrs. Marsh and daughter, Mrs. J.G. Spangler and daughters of Mesa, Mrs. Adams, Glenn Adams, Ms. Hoffmaster, Mrs. Lembke, Mrs. Russell, Ms. Jessie Eaton, Mrs. Heffner, Mrs. Jones, Ms. Brass, Mrs. Lecky, Mrs. Jordan, Mrs. Halstead, Mrs. Bland, Mrs. Edwards, Mrs. Stowe, Mrs. Carlson, Mrs. Kunce, Mrs. Arnold, Mrs. Gilbert, Mrs. Grainger, Mrs. Mallory and children, Mrs. and Ms. Rogers.

-A group of about 20 weomen were at the meeting, last Thursday, in the school house where future meetings will be held until cooler weather. The place is more commodious than the homes also. Several ladies brought lemons, watermelons, cookies, grapes, and plums that were enjoyed by the group. (Chandler Arizonan 8/15/1913)
