08. Raul Navarrete

Raul Navarrete was Chandler’s first Hispanic mayor.  Born and schooled in the city of Chandler, and aside from three years of service in the Navy during World War II, Navarrete always called Chandler home.  He was active in the National Guard, retiring as a Major after serving as a battery commander in Chandler.  Navarrete was a leader in Chandler youth athletic programs and in his church parish.
