12: The orange grove and bungalows
Orange Grove Vista, a citrus tree lined promenade extended from the hotel to the golf course, was a popular feature of the San Marcos. Exotic landscaping, reflecting pools, and lily ponds intermixed with the lush grass and orange trees on the hotel grounds.
Description: Built in the 1910s and 1920s, the San Marcos bunglaows offered guests the privacy of their own house during their stay at the hotel. The bungalows were located on the concourse behind the hotel. Lush landscaping, fountains and pools, and an orange grove made visitors feel like they were in paradise.
