Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church

Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church

This church is one of Chandler’s oldest black churches. Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist church began in 1938 in a tent located on Winn Addition, Lot #12 on East Saragosa Street.

Worshippers have for years been baptized in an immersion pool built behind the church’s pulpit.

On October 14, 1941, under the leadership of Rev. James, the members purchased a Lot on cash and built a small house of worship.
