Seton Catholic High
In 1954, parochial education in Chandler expanded to the high school level.
In that year, Seton Catholic High School opened its doors. Named for the founder of the Sisters of Charity, Elizabeth Ann Seton, its opening was the realization of the dream of Father Joseph Patterson, who firmly believed in the importance of education.
Father Patterson has previously opened St. Mary’s Catholic School and developed athletic organizations for Chandler’s youth.
Originally, Seton High was on Chandler Boulevard. It was one long building with five classrooms, but later expanded to include several buildings.
In 1980, a fire destroyed most of the campus. For three years, classes were held in temporary classrooms. in 1983, a campus on Dobson Road was opened.
The original Seton High building is now home to the East Valley Boys and Girls club today.
