Chapman, Dawn

Dawn Chapman began Cutting Horse in 1997 and has since been awarded the National Cutting Horse Championship Awards in Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. In 2023, she was named to the NCHA Hall of Fame, as was her own horse, Clays Little Kit Cat. Under the tutelage of Chapman and her trainer Mike Wood from 2015 to 2024, five horses – Clays Little Kit Cat, Little Jackson Cat, Hottish Cat, Dos Cats, and Talkin Reycy – were named World Champion Horses. As of May 2025, Chapman’s lifetime earnings for Cutting Horse are over six hundred thousand dollars.

Dawn Chapman was inducted into the Chandler Sports Hall of Fame in 2026.
