Bath House and Pool

A stock company is being formed in Chandler to erect a swimming pool and bath house.  C.J. Berg, engineer for the Chandler Improvement Company, is in charge of designing it for immediate erection.

The swimming tank will be made from concrete and will have a slope of two feet to six feet in depth.  Shower baths will be provided, and the entire structure will be enclosed.

About 25 citizens have already signed up, and have secured the funds.  Anyone interested still can join the "trust" as Mr. Turner calls it by seeing Mr. Berg or going to the Chandler Improvement Company's offices.

Everyone who joins will get keys, and those that don't will have to pay a nominal fee.  (Chandler Arizonan 7/11/1913)

M.P. Freeman was awarded the contract for excavating for the pool and bath house.  He started on Monday, and has already finished.

The concrete lining for the pool has been started, and Engineer Berg says it will be done in a week.

Already 40 people have signed up to join, and anyone else interested should see Mr. Turner at the Bank of Chandler for the paper work.  (Chandler Arizonan 7/18/1913)

The bath house and pool are almost done says Engineer Berg.  The pool has been extended ten feet for a total of sixty feet long.  Also the six foot plunge has been deepened to some extent.  The building time would have been done sooner, but due to scarcity of labor it took longer than expected.  (Chandler Arizonan 8/1/1913)

The new bath house and pool are almost done.  The walls and floor are in, and the fence and dressing rooms are started.  Over 50 people have signed up, and $500 raised which will pay for it.  The Mexican neighborhood surrounding the pool is in the plan to be relocated.  (Chandler Arizonan 8/15/1913)
