Mannon, Adam
Adam Mannon attended Hamilton High as a freshman the year of its inception. A three sport star, Mannon earned most, if not all, of his accolades on the gridiron and the diamond. As a wide receiver, Mannon was given All-State honors his senior year. He amassed over 1000 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns. He set Hamilton records for touchdowns in a game (3), touchdowns in a season (15), and career receiving yards (1854). By the end of his stellar senior campaign, local writer Barry Sollenberger declared that Mannon was the best receiver in the state.
Mannon was just as gifted on the baseball field. The outfielder was named the 2002 Fiesta Region player of the year and earned a place on the All-State second team. He set Hamilton career records in home runs (22), runs batted in (97), runs scored (103), stolen bases (36), and wins as a pitcher (17). By the end of his incredibly distinguished career, Mannon was rated the sixth best baseball player in America.
Mannon spent a season at Chandler Gilbert Community College, where he performed well enough to get drafted in the 17th round of the 2002 MLB draft by the Milwaukee Brewers. After some success in the low minors, Mannon suffered a career ending injury in 2005. Now married, Mannon earned a full ride to ASU, where he graduated in 2011.
