Starting in 2010, the Chandler Museum, the City of Chandler, and the Pardner’s of Tumbleweed Ranch sponsored the Chandler Chuck Wagon Cook-off. This free family friendly culinary event offered a rare opportunity to experience authentic 1880s chuck wagons from across the Southwest prepare open fire and Dutch oven cooking as it would was done on a cattle drives during the heyday of the cowboys. Wagon teams prepared a 5-course meal that was sold to the public and competed for cash prizes and bragging rights to be the Chandler Chuck Wagon Cook-off Champion.
