He is listed in the 1918 and 1919 Chandler (Arizona) City Directories as working as a pressman for South West Cotton Co. He appears in the

1920 and 1921 directories as a laborer. He and his wife Emma Davis lived on Dakota Street.

The 1923 directory said he was a rancher, still on Dakota St. The 1926 directory identifies him as a farmer and said he and Emma lived on north Dakota.

(He could be E. J. Davis.)

Elijah P. Davis is listed in the 1930 directory as a farmer, living with Emma at 300 N. Dakota. Also living there were Joseph L. Davis and Kathleen Davis. Joe Davis lived at 309 N. Dakota

The 1940 Chandler Resident Directory said E. J. P. Davis was a custodian for the state Highway Department and that he and his wife Emma lived on the east side of north Dakota beyond Detroit.
