According to the 1917 Chandler directory, trustees are:  W. H. Robinson, George H. Sturgeon, and J. L. Entrekin, clerk

Before Arizona became a state, classes were held in a rented building at the corner of Brighton and Balboa Streets. The building was identified as the Chandler School House.

In 1913, the Grammar School was built at what is now Chandler Boulevard. On June 11, 1917, a part of land was purchased where Chandler High School would be built. Chandler grammar and high schools opened September 20, 1920.
