James V. DeWitt  is listed in the 1926 Chandler City Directory as a meat cutter for Pay'n Takit. He lived a mile east of the city.

The 1930 directory said J. V. DeWitt was an owner of DeWitt Jersey Dairy and lived in Chandler. His wife was Lola.

He also appears in the 1932 Phoenix Telephone Directory, Chandler section, as living on a ranch east of Chandler, with phone number 65-J3.
