This church began in a tent located on Winn Addition, Lot #12 on East Saragosa Street.
Oral history from the only living member of the original Mt. Olive membership, Mother Carlanthe Turner stated the church was 70 years old as of 2006.
On October 14, 1941, under the leadership of Rev. James, the members purchased a Lot on cash and built a small house of worship.
