-Mr. England is running a truck garden for the Chandler Improvement Company.
His garden is located across the railroad tracks about a quarter mile, and recently he has bought a lot in town.
In the garden, he has planted 18,000 onions which will be ready in about six weeks for the market. He has a half acre of tomato seed. Also he has planted lettuce and radishes which will be ready in a few weeks. There is also an acre of potatoes. (Chandler Arizonan 2/28/1913)
-Mr. England brought into town his new radishes last Saturday. His son sold all twelve dozen to Mrs. Rush of Rush Cafe for market price. (Chandler Arizonan 3/14/1913)
-On his five acres, Mr. England is growing spinach and beets which will be ready in a few days. His young onions are doing nicely, and the rest of his vegetation is almost doing well. (Chandler Arizonan 4/4/1913)
-The warm weather has caused Mr. England's plants to grow faster than expected and before demand. He now has many young vegetables for sale including radishess, onions, spinach, turnips, lettuce, beets, peas, and chard. In a few weeks, he will have beans, squash, cucumbers, melons, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and carrots.
