San Tan Historical Society
San Tan Historical Society
The society’s mission is to “collect, preserve, document and display the histories and artifacts of the Chandler Heights, Combs, Higley, and Queen Creek communities.”
In what once served as the Rittenhouse Elementary School from 1925 to 1982, the museum accomplishes its mission with a variety of exhibits. From a preserved classroom, there is a chalkboard that still has what was written on it the day the school closed.
The museum was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
