San Marcos in the Desert
This "desert homes estates" development appeared in the 1929 Chandler City Directory. The developer was the Chandler Improvement Co. The office was at 2 San Marcos Place, Tel 16 or 25.
San Marcos in the Desert shows a blueprint for a proposed hotel to be developed with Frank Lloyd Wright. The San Marcos in the Desert was to offer beautiful views of the desert spreading out below. Located on 1,400 acres in the South Mountain foothills, the hotel was to be built into the side of the mountain, with three terraced floors of guest rooms on each wing
