Gladys appears in the 1940 Chandler (Arizona) Resident Directory as a cook for Chandler Schools and living on the east side of Highway 87 beyond Mill Road. She was probably related to Edgar and Frances Ethington and Edgar Ethington Jr. They all had the  phone number 79R2.
