Bert Hill appears in the 1923 Chandler City Directory as a laborer, living on Dakota St. His wife was Bernice Hill.

The 1929 directory said he worked in groceries at 99 N. Oregon. The 1930, 1931 and 1932 directories gave the grocery address as 199 N. Oregon.

The 1931 and 1932 directories said he and Bernice lived at 161 N. Oregon. 

Bert Hill living on north Oregon also appears in the 1932 Phoenix Telephone Directory, Chandler section, with the phone number 173. He or the other Bert Hill may be connected to Hill's Motor Service. Another Bert Hill is also listed in Chandler directories.

The 1940 Chandler Resident Directory said he was a bus driver for Chandler Schools and that he and Bernice lived on the west side of North Oregon beyond Buffalo streets. They had the phone number 173.
