-Mr. Turner with Secretary Peabody went to Tempe on Tuesday to attend a reception for the members of the legislature tendered by the State Normal School.  (Chandler Arizonan 3/21/1913)

-Spoke at the first meeting of the Chandler Egyptian Cotton Growers' Association.  He spoke on the cotton gin, and the growth of the city and how they all needed to cooperate.  He was also willing to help with financial aid.  He was appointed to a committee to go to Mesa to see about affliating with them.  (Chandler Arizonan 3/28/1913)
