Patrick Bryan Murphy graduated from Hamilton High School in Chandler, AZ...named to the 2013 Rawlings Preseason West – All Region 1st Team... committed to play at the University of Oregon but chose to sign with the Toronto Blue Jays.

2022

Participated in fourth career Major League Spring Training and first with Washington...Appeared in six games of relief for the Nationals from April 7-22, allowing four earned runs on 5.2 innings pitched with eight walks and was designated for release or assignment April 22....Cleared waivers and outrighted by Nationals and reported to Triple-A Rochester on April 27....Posted season-long 9.1 scoreless inning streak with the Red Wings from May 20-June 16 (9 games)....Finished season in Red Wings starting rotation, making six starts from Aug.23-Sept. 4, going 1-0, 4.44 ERA (24.1 IP, 12 ER)....Held left-handed batters to a .193 batting average, compared to .295 against right-handed batters at both levels combined...did not allow a home run to a lefty all season and allowed six to righties....Ranked fourth on Red Wings' staff in games (40)...also fourth in strikeouts (73), second among relievers....Declared free agency November 10 and signed Minor League contract with Minnesota on Dec. 10.

2021

Allowed one run on six hits for a 1.50 ERA (1 ER/6.0 IP) and a 1.33 WHIP (2BB, 5K) in his first four MLB games....After Summer Camp, went to the club’s alternate training site for the first 48 games of the year...Named as the 29th man for a doubleheader on Sept. 18 at PHI...Made his MLB debut as he pitched in the first game and threw 1.1 scoreless innings of relief with one hit, one walk and three strikeouts...Became the 8th Blue Jay to make his Major League debut in 2020.

2019

Spent the entire season with Double-A New Hampshire...Posted a 4.71 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP over 18 starts...Went 4-0 in day games (1.42 ERA) but was 0-7 in night contests (7.43 ERA)...Was placed on the seven-day injured list on three occasions...Tossed a career-high 8.0 innings on April 28 at Reading (2H, 1ER, 2BB, 7K).

2018

Played all but one of his games with Advanced-A Dunedin ... Over 26 starts for the D-Jays, went 10-5 with a 2.64 ERA ... Led the Florida State League in starts (26) and innings (146.2) ... Also ranked 2nd in the FSL in ERA (2.64), 2nd in strikeouts (135), 3rd in WHIP (1.20) and tied for 4th in wins (10) ... Was named Florida State League Pitcher of the Year ... Made one start for Double-A New Hampshire, on May 27 vs. Hartford, and took a no-decision as he allowed two runs on four hits over 6.0 innings (3BB, 6K) ... Pitched his 1st career complete game on July 5 at Fort Myers (7.0 IP, 3H, 1ER, 1BB, 6K) ...
