He was nearly killed last Friday evening while heading to a prayer meeting at Quartier's just after 7 p.m. There was a party of eight in the wagon when the horses ran into a new ditch being built across the road south of Chandler. Mr. Berry received a deep gash four inches long when he fell in between the horses. He also received a broken ankle on his left foot, plus various other cuts and bruises over his body. Drs. K.M. Gilbert and F.C. Jordan were sent for, and after medical treatment brought him home for several weeks recovery.
