Eckles, Charles

The 1916 and 1917 Chandler City Directories  list  him as working at a pool hall. The 1918 directory describes him as being in the furnished rooms business. In the 1919 directory he is listed as working in billiards and furnished rooms. He also had a housekeeper, Mrs. Susan Boedell in 1919.

The 1920 and 1921 directories said he was the proprietor of the Boston Hotel. The 1923 directory adds that he lived there.

The 1925 and 1926 directories  indicated that he owned the Boston Hotel and a grocery store, on Boston, at the corner of Washington.

The 1929 directory said he was in the grocery business at 1 E. Boston.

The 1931 city directory said he worked in groceries at 80 S. San Marcos Place and lived at the Plaza Hotel.

Mr. Eckles and his brother arrived from Monolith, California on Thursday to superintend the building of a five room concrete residence on a 62 acres ranch which is two miles southeast of Chandler.

They will return to California to retrieve the family upon completion of work.  (Chandler Arizonan 8/23/1912)
