He is listed in the 1916, 1917 and 1918 Chandler (Arizona) City Directories as a co-owner of Curry & Frye, a pool hall. Lloyd J. Curry is the other owner. They both live at Hotel Chandler.
The 1918 directory does not include a residence.
In the 1919, 1920 and 1921 directories, he is described as a rancher. George Frye appears in the 1931 and 1932 directories with the address P. O. Box 1062. The 1932 Phoenix Telephone Directory, Chandler section, said he lived on a ranch south of Chandler and had the phone number 73-R2.
The 1940 Chandler Resident Directory said George Frye was a county supervisor (probably Maricopa County) and that he and his wife Etta lived on the west side of south Arizona. They had the phone number 189.
-Mr. Frye, representing the Brunswick-Balke people, has leased the store room in the new bank building from R.M. Turner for a new pool and billiard hall called the New Pool Hall.
He plans to run a first class place with four tables of pool and billiards. He will install a fine line of cigars and tobaccos.

-After waiting five weeks, Mr. Frye's tables and other paraphernalia have arrived for his new pool hall. He opened for the first time on Tuesday night and did good business.
