Sturgeon, George H.

Mr. Sturgeon lives two miles southwest of Chandler.

He is leaving for California to buy two carloads of thoroughbred milk cows to add to his present dairy herd.  He is farming 120 acres. 

He just sold 15 head of Holstein thoroughbreds to Mr. W.H. Schutlze of San Luis-Obisbo, California who has 80 acres here run by his sons.

Mr. Sturgeon has been in the dairying business since last October.  At present time he has 20 milking cows.  He is going to build stanchions to keep the cow from being able to move their head side to side.  He will also build mangers for feeding since he doesn't believe the cows should be free to roam, because they become bloated.

He is in favor of getting a creamery for the city of Chandler.

He has installed a gasoline engine for his separator.  (Chandler Arizonan 3/21/1913)

-Mr. Sturgeon has been in California buying dairy cows, and has returned to his ranch two miles southwest of town.  He says the dry weather in California will be bringing people here to check out the climate and land.  (Chandler Arizonan 4/18/1913)
