Axline, N. W.

-Mr. Axline works for Mr. Fisher on the ditching machine.  Last Tuesday, he was working where the Bank of Chandler's present quarters are located, when he noticed a window open and extending out into the alley.  He went to close it so it wouldn't be broken by the machine, but failed to notice how close the machine was to his foot.  The machine went over his foot, which caused him to cry out.  The engineer misunderstood what happened, and stopped the machine on Axline's foot for several minutes before he backed off.

Mr. Axline was carried to the doctor's office, where the only serious injury was his big toe nail was hacked off.  The machine weighs 15 tons.  (Chandler Arizonan 7/4/1913)
