Working for the Farm Security Administration (FSA) was Dorothea Lange’s favorite type of work. She enjoyed the opportunity to tell the stories of her subjects. Roy Stryker, the head of the Information Division for the FSA, noted that she had the best captions of all his photographers. Lange had the ability to make people feel at ease when she was photographing them. This led to great photos and storytelling.
