Cameron Jordan graduated from Chandler High School in 2007, where he was a standout football player and track and field athlete.  In track and field he competed in the discuss and shot put, earning a state title as a senior.  Where Cameron excelled was on the football field.  The son of a former NFL player, Steve Jordan, Cameron put together a stellar career at Chandler High, which included setting the school single season record for sacks at 17.5, and compiling a team high 85 tackles his senior season.  For his efforts that year he was named 1st team All State, the Fiesta Region Defensive Player of the Year, and was a finalist for Arizona Player of the Year.  His success brought him many scholarship offers, including University of California, Colorado, Oregon State, and Arizona.  He chose to attend California, where he became a four year letterman.  He played in all 13 games as a freshman, and earned the right to start games as a sophomore.  Cameron earned Honorable Mention all-Pac 10 Conference honors in his sophomore and junior seasons at Cal.  As a senior, he was the leader of the Cal defense.  His inspired play brought him 1st Team All-Pac 10 Conference honors, Honorable Mention All-American honors, and was rewarded with getting drafted in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft, going #24 overall to the New Orleans Saints.  His NFL career got off to a fast start, with Cameron starting in 15 of 16 regular season games, and the Saints making it to the Divisional round of the playoffs.  His second NFL season was even better, as he started all 16 regular season games and recorded a career high 66 tackles and 8 sacks.  Cameron's third season in the NFL proved to be a breakout campaign, as he anchored a resurgent New Orleans Saints defense, made the playoffs, and was named to his first Pro-Bowl.  Cameron was inducted into the Chandler Sports Hall of Fame on February 9, 2013.
