He appears in the 1917 Chandler City Directory as a farmer, living on the Gilbert Rural Free Delivery 1 postal route.

The 1923 and 1925 directories listed him as having the address R.D. 1, Box 65.

The 1929 directory said W. L. was foreman at the Chandler Improvement Co. and lived two and a half miles south of the city. The 1930 directory just said W. L. Plum lived on Route 1.
