The Leader

This store appears in the 1918, 1919, 1920, 1921 and 1923 Chandler City Directories.  Its owner was Joseph Friedberg.

Friedberg originally opened the business in a storeroom at the San Marcos Hotel and in 1918 moved it to the new Friedberg Building, at 67 W Boston Street. It remained there until the 1930s.

JC Penney operated a business there until the 1950s and in 1972 David Saba opened a clothing store there.

The 1923 directory said the dry goods store was on Boston, near San Marcos Place.
