Carson, Stephen
Coach Stephen Carson has over 40 years of track and field coaching experience in which he has had incredible success. He is a Certified US Track & Field Coach who has coached all over the East Valley for Tempe Parks and Rec, Arizona State University, Mesa Parks and Rec, Taft Elementary, Poston Junior High, Fremont Junior High, Mesa High, Westwood High, Arizona Cheetahs, Chandler High, and most recently, in "retirement," at Hamilton High.
During his time as head coach at Chandler High School, he coached the boys track and field team to 5 Arizona State Championships and 3 runners up finishes. Coach Carson also led the team to back-to-back Nike National Championships in 2010 and 2011. His teams have won 9 Fiesta Region Championships.
Coach Carson has been named the Arizona Track & Field Coach of the Year 5 times. In 2012, he was named the Gill Athletics Western Region Coach of the Year and was a finalist for National Coach of the Year. He was inducted into the Chandler Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.
