Cleveland, R. J. "Blackie"

-Mr. Cleveland was given a "hand" from the women in the crowd after catching two high balls in a baseball game against the Chandler regulars.  His catches stopped the Chandler regulars from scoring more points.

He plays left field for the Hotel San Marcos mechanics.  (Chandler Arizonan 1/31/1913)

-Mr. Cleveland was a witness for the case of bootlegging against M.J. Trainer.  (Chandler Arizonan 6/27/1913)

-Mr. Cleveland beat Mr. Eldridge in the semi-finals at the block race, but lost to John Guess in the finals by a close call.  He would go on to win the wheelbarrow race, and the three-legged race with Roy Ayers.  The races were done for the 4th of July celebration.  (Chandler Arizonan 7/11/1913)
