-Canal Superintendent Eastman was in Chandler on Wednesday working on building a new ditch and getting the pump working again.  A piece of wood was discovered stuck in the pump.  (Chandler Arizonan 6/6/1913)

-Superintendent Eastman was in Chandler to make an appointment to temporarily replace Joel Barton while on vacation.  He has appointed Dr. W.G. Barackman to run the Hackney and Banta ditches.  (Chandler Arizonan 7/11/1913)
