Building Bridges Oral History Project

In 2020 the Chandler Museum and Chandler Public Library collaborated on a grant-funded digital project to collect oral histories from Chandler’s African American community. This project brought in community members to help build the Museum's oral history collection. In addition, the project helped equip Chandler Public Library's The Makery Studio, where the interviews took place. The overall goal was to support diversity and inclusion in Library and Museum collections, programs, and services.

This project is supported by the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
