He appears in the 1931 and 1932 Chandler (Arizona) City Directories as city fire chief, marshall, and superintendent of the street department and water department. His wife was Rose B. They lived at 215 W. Boston.

The 1932 Phoenix Telephone Directory, Chandler section, said he lived on North Dakota and had the phone number 168.

He appears in the 1940 Chandler Resident Directory as superintendent of public water works. He and Rose B. lived on the west side of North Dakota, beyond west Buffalo. Their phone number was 168.

Donald Hardt, Richard Hardt and Robert Hardt were also listed as living there in 1940.
