Love, Glenn

Glenn Love was a four sport athlete at Hamilton High in the mid 2000's. An amazing football player, Love also earned varsity letters in basketball, soccer, and track and field. His best second sport was easily basketball. He played all four years, and he earned All-Region honorable mention his senior season. While Love was successful in other athletic endeavors, he shined on the gridiron. Going into his senior season, Love was rated the seventh best player in Arizona by http://rivals.com . His performance during the year made him arguably the state's best player. The senior safety set a Hamilton record with ten interceptions in a season. He also managed to tally over a hundred tackles and block three field goals, incredible numbers for a defensive back. He played best when the lights were brightest, bringing home MVP honors in the state title game. He finished the final contest of his high school career with eleven tackles, two interceptions, and a blocked field goal. He was a member of the 1st team All-Region, and played in both the East-West game and Arizona All-Star game at the year's conclusion.

Love continued his playing career at UCLA. Having switched to linebacker, Love was a key contributor on both defense and special teams. He finished his UCLA career with 105 tackles, including six tackles for loss. Love expected to go into real estate after his playing career was finished (Scott Fisher, Calgary Sun), but football was not willing to let him go. He was signed by the British Columbia Lions of the CFL, where he spent the year on the practice squad. He is a current member of the Calgary Stampeders.
