Mr. McGaughey with his father, J. McGaughey, brother, Otto, and H.T. Armistead, want to lease long term 1,000 acres to go into farming extensively.

They would like the land in one tract or two if needed if they are close together.  Part in alfalfa and part brush is okay, but if there is no home then improved would be preferred.

They've been farming in the district over a year successfully.  (Chandler Arizonan 8/15/1913)

The 1931 and 1932 Chandler (Arizona) City Directories said William A. McGaughey was a zanjero (water canal operator) for the Water Users Assn.  His address was P. O. Box 305.

The 1940 Chandler Resident Directory said William A. McGaughey was a state game warden and lived with his wife Rita M. on the north side of east Commonweatlh beyond the tracks. Their phone number was 28. They were probably related to William A. McGaughey Jr.

There also is a William McGaughey listed among World War II veterans.
