McKay, Robert (Bob)

• Mr. McKay is one of the key players on the Chandler regulars baseball team.  (Chandler Arizonan 1/17/1913)

-The Chandler regulars beat the Hotel San Marcos mechanics baseball team last Sunday.  He played center fieldman for the team, and is the manager.

He says the team has nowhere to practice, but for a 100 dollars and a piece of land west of town they could make it work.  He is interested in starting a baseball league with Mesa, Tempe, and Phoenix.  (Chandler Arizonan 1/31/1913)

-Mr. McKay played catcher for the Chandler baseball team in their win against the Sweetwater Indians.  He was able to tie up the game with a three base hit in the eighth inning.  (Chandler Arizonan 3/7/1913)

-Mr. McKay played catcher in the win against the Gilbert team 7 to 6.  (Chandler Arizonan 3/21/1913)

-Mr. McKay is a member of the Reclamation Service in this district, and has decided to take up farming.  He rented ten acres from Albert Garcia for one year.  (Chandler Arizonan 6/13/1913)

-Mr. McKay has announced a second baseball game for the 4th of July celebration against the Sweetwater Indians.  (Chandler Arizonan 6/27/1913)

-Mr. McKay was a member of the losing married man's baseball team on the 4th of July.  (Chandler Arizonan 7/11/1913)

-Mr. McKay has a called for a practice Sunday at 3 p.m. for those interested in playing baseball.  About 15 people have said they are interested.  (Chandler Arizonan 8/15/1913)
